Poured Limestone
Liquid Limestone Process
Now that you are convinced on the advantages and appearance of poured limestone you are ready to take the next step, so what is involved?
- Make a call to Gecko Rock and we’ll make a time appropriate to you to meet at your home or office to discuss your liquid limestone paving job. We can simply work with your existing plans or sit down with you and help with design. Most importantly, whenever consulting with a client, the overall theme or style of poured limestone paving that the client is seeking is considered to ensure continuity. At this stage we will discuss patterns, colours and borders to allow the client to add their personal touch. At the end of the meeting we will provide you with a written quote where upon acceptance we will decide on a date with the client to commence with the poured limestone installation.
- Where any major earthworks are required we will come in a few days prior to starting the work to get these done. Gecko Rock poured limestone installers use only quality earthmoving contractors to ensure your job is prepared with care and precision.
- On the day that the limestone is poured we make an early start to get all the formwork in place. The limestone is poured to a depth of 80mm for pedestrian areas and 100mm for heavy traffic areas. The pattern is then etched and texture added.
Patterns
There are many types of limestone patterns available and these will be discussed during your consultation with our
poured limestone installers. The installer will be able to advise on the patterns most suited to the proposed area.
Protecting your new poured limestone paving
Now that you have your newly poured limestone what’s next? Sealing is an important part of the poured limestone process. By sealing the poured limestone stains from oils, drinks and other liquids can be avoided. Equally the sealing helps to avoid mould and mildew from building up therefore keeping your poured limestone looking new at all times. Importantly the sealer we use has a matt finish so you are not left with a glossy surface. Once the sealer is applied you will find that any liquids will simply bead on top of your poured limestone.
Where weather permits we come back within 48 hours to seal the liquid limestone paving, leaving it ready to be used and enjoyed.
